Accepted Materials

Being aware of the accepted materials for a bin rental will help you avoid extra fees and streamline the disposal process. Most parties will not research constraints on materials that can be disposed in advance of arranging the rental. At True North Dumpsters, we work with a network of haulers to provide competitive dumpster rental services across North York, Scarborough, Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, Hamilton, and Niagara. We’ve created this guide to serve as a useful reference to guide your disposal. Our goal is to help you sort your materials in advance to expedite your use of the dumpster.

Accepted materials may vary based on regulations in a given region. We dispose of materials at local waste depots which have defined lists of accepted materials. Despite regional differences, there are several groups of materials which are widely permitted and prohibited for dumpster rentals.

Common Materials

The most common use of bin rentals by households is to dispose of the following:

  • General junk – clothing, sports equipment, cardboard, etc.
  • Furniture and appliances – certain appliances, like fridges, may have hazardous materials such as freon. They need to be removed by a professional to ensure appropriate handling.
  • Renovation debris – baseboards, cabinets, countertops, fencing, drywall, insulation and lumber

Unlike junk removal companies, the expectation is for the renter will place the materials in the dumpster themselves. Our hauler partners will not enter your home to remove materials or

Yard Waste and Soil

It is common during Spring and Summer for households to rent dumpsters for their yard cleaning efforts. Yard waste including grass, shrubs, and in some cases soil can be placed in a dumpster. Ultimately, the acceptance of yard waste is subject to the guidelines of the local region. We recommend giving us a call at 365-697-5699 to confirm the materials acceptable for your dumpster rental.
